Supplemental Instruction and Study Groups

During the 2019-20 academic year, the Academic Achievement Hub (AAH) offers Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Study Groups facilitated by your peers for 28 courses, and 6 departments/divisions. In 2018-19 academic year, over 4,178 students participated in and contributed to a total of 21,015 visits in these programs.

Learning with a group of peers is a powerful tool!

Sessions are a place to:

  • Work on challenging concepts
  • Learn from and with your peers
  • Get questions answered that you didn’t know you had
  • Schedule a regular time and place to study to help avoid procrastination
  • Explain material to other students to solidify your knowledge

These sessions are facilitated by peer leaders/facilitators who have already successfully completed the course at UC San Diego and are trained in collaborative learning techniques.
